"Thank you so much for all your help with these. The school is incredibly grateful for the last-minute turnaround. The photographs look fantastic, and we are very much looking forward to sharing them with our parents and pupils this evening."

Mixed Production CGI & AI Interior Visuals
The Brief
Crosfields School needed a set of concept design visuals of their proposed new Sixth Form spaces, including the library, classroom, common room and café, to present to families at their parents’ evenings and open day. The client had first tried creating the imagery themselves using AI tools, but couldn’t achieve the accuracy or polish the project required. With a fixed deadline and a tight budget, they turned to The Pixel Workshop.
The Challenge
AI has made image creation more accessible than ever, but accessible isn’t the same as accurate. The project presented several hurdles:
- Spatial accuracy: The visuals needed to reflect the true proportions and layout of each room, not an AI approximation.
- Brand integrity: The school’s logo, including the crest and the Crosfields School name, had to be reproduced exactly. AI tools routinely distort logos and lettering.
- Cohesive styling: Six distinct areas needed to feel like one Sixth Form, with a shared palette and design language.
- Time and budget: Full traditional CGI production wasn’t feasible within the client’s window.
WHY AI ALONE WASN’T ENOUGH
The client’s initial AI-generated images captured the general idea of each space, but fell short in the areas that matter most when presenting to parents:
- Branding errors: The school name on the café wall was cut short to “Crosfields Schoo”, and the crest was only a loose approximation of the real one.
- Unrealistic finish: Oversaturated colour, glossy plastic-looking surfaces and mirror-like floors gave the images an artificial, illustrated feel.
- Distorted geometry: Walls, windows and glazing were warped and tilted, so the space no longer reflected the real building.
- Inconsistent spaces: Furniture, lighting and proportions shifted from image to image, so the rooms didn’t read as one building.
- Limited control: Each attempt to fix one detail introduced new problems elsewhere.
THE SOLUTION
Our mixed production approach combines the efficiency of new technology with over 25 years of CGI expertise. It gave the client the accuracy and finish of traditional visualisation at the speed and cost they needed. Every space was built to reflect the school’s real layout, the branding was reproduced faithfully, and each image was styled to sit naturally alongside the others as one cohesive Sixth Form.
THE RESULT
Concept visuals of all six spaces were produced in just four days and delivered on 25 September, four days ahead of the 29 September deadline and within budget. We were also able to turn around an additional last-minute request from the school within the same timeframe. The school was able to share them with families at its parents’ evening and open day, giving them a clear concept of the new Sixth Form of the proposed design.
